Do you think Airtel should reconsider their pricing and offerings?
Airtel's New 2G Call Plan
Airtel recently introduced new voice-only plans following TRAI's guidelines, aimed at providing affordable options for 2G users. However, these plans have sparked controversy and dissatisfaction among customers, especially when compared to similar offerings from Jio and Vi.
The New Plans
Airtel's new plans include:
- Rs 499 Plan: Valid for 84 days, offering unlimited voice calls, free national roaming, and 900 free SMS messages.
- Rs 1959 Plan: Valid for 365 days, providing unlimited voice calls, free national roaming, and 3600 free SMS messages.
Customers are upset for several reasons: Airtel's plans have a higher monthly cost, making them more expensive on a per-day basis compared to Jio, despite offering similar benefits. Additionally, Airtel has discontinued data plans that were previously affordable, forcing users to choose between voice-only plans or more costly data-inclusive options. Finally, the lack of flexibility in these new plans leaves users who occasionally need data with no middle ground, further contributing to their dissatisfaction.
While Airtel's new voice-only plans are a step in the right direction, they fall short in comparison to Jio and Vi's offerings. Customers feel that Airtel is not providing the best value for money, and the lack of data options is a significant drawback.
